Rules and privacy
These rules apply to every student, mentor, parent and visitor of ().
1. Who can submit
- Students aged 11 to 18, from any country.
- The work is guided by a mentor: a teacher, professor or researcher.
- The student who sends the entry is its first author and presents it. The mentor is named with the presentation.
- Team projects are welcome. One student, the first author, sends the entry and presents it. The names of the other students go in the form; only the organisers see them, and the website shows only how many other students worked on the project.
- Work already presented at another science fair or conference can be submitted.
- Each student can submit at most two different projects.
- A mentor can supervise several students and several projects, and can be a co-author.
2. What to submit
- Presentations can be in English or in Greek. The title, abstract and poster are in the same language as the presentation.
- A title, the field, and an abstract (a short summary of the research) of at most 300 words. A good abstract says what question you asked, how you studied it, what you found, and why it matters.
- A poster or slides as one PDF, PNG or JPG file of at most 10 MB. Slides from PowerPoint or Google Slides can be saved as one PDF.
- A link to a recorded video of at most 6 minutes: the talk, or for a poster, a video where the student explains the poster.
3. Honest and safe research
- The work must be the student's own. Copying the work of others without saying where it comes from is not allowed.
- We do not accept research that is illegal, harmful or discriminatory. The organisers can remove any entry that breaks these rules.
- The work remains the property of its authors. By submitting, you allow the conference to show it on this website.
4. Permission from a parent or guardian
Because every presenter is under 19, we ask a parent or guardian to give permission through a link we send by email. Nothing about a student appears on this website until (a) the organisers accept the entry and (b) a parent or guardian has given permission.
5. Who sees what
During the conference, accepted entries with permission are shown only to invited participants: presenters, their mentors and parents, and guests invited by the organisers. Each invited person has a personal link. After the conference, an entry stays visible to everyone only if a parent or guardian agreed to that.
What is shown: the name the student chose to show, the mentor's name, for a team project how many other students worked on it, the country, the school if given, the connection to Kythera if given, the title, field, abstract, poster and video link.
Never shown: email addresses, age, the parent's details or the mentor's contact details.
The names of the other students in a team are never shown on the website; only the organisers see them.
A presentation that a parent or guardian agreed to show after the conference stays on the website until the student or a parent asks us to remove it.
6. Questions and answers
During the 48 hours, invited participants can ask presenters questions in writing on this website, and presenters answer there. Every question and answer is checked before others see it, first by an automatic check and, when needed, by the organisers. Messages that ask for or share personal details, or that are not about the research, are not shown.
The presenter's mentor and parent, and the conference reviewers, can read all the questions and answers on the presentation. Each guest sees only their own conversation. The mentor can add to the student's answers; only the student's own answers count for the certificate. Questions and answers can be in English or Greek. Nobody receives anyone's email address, and there are no private messages.
7. The live video rooms
- Live sessions take place on Google Meet. Each presenter joins one presenter room, at a time that suits their part of the world.
- The conference runs for 48 hours, from 00:00 Saturday to 24:00 Sunday, New York time.
- Every room has a room chair (the adult who runs the live room), who admits (lets in) only invited people. Any invited person may join a room to listen, and parents are welcome.
- No Google account is needed: open the link and type your name. Cameras are optional.
- Rooms are held in English; rooms of Greek presentations are held in Greek.
- Nobody may record the presenter rooms. The opening and closing sessions, where only the organisers speak, may be recorded and shared with invited participants.
8. Your data
- We collect names, email addresses, age, country and school only to run the conference and to contact you about it.
- Invited people's names and emails are used only to run the conference: their names are shown beside their questions, their emails never. From people who sign up for news we keep their name, email and country only to send conference news; write to us at any time to stop these emails.
- The data is stored on the servers of Cloudflare (a web hosting company) and is read only by the organisers.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to train AI.
- You can ask us at any time to correct or delete your data, or to remove a presentation, by writing to hello@resforme.com.
9. Cost and certificate
Taking part is free for students and their mentors. Presenters who join their live room and answer the questions about their presentation receive a certificate of participation. If no one asks a question, joining the room is enough.
10. What the conference does not promise
Taking part does not guarantee any prize, award or university admission. The certificate of participation confirms that the student presented at the conference.
